The Argentina coach has decided on his position regarding Messi's participation in the match with Jordan

Argentina secured passage to the round of 16 after beating Algeria 3-0 and Austria 2-0, crediting Messi for scoring all five goals.

Scaloni told a press conference on Friday that Messi โ€œwill be on the bench against Jordan to start the next match and tomorrow we will announce the rest of the squad.โ€

He added: โ€œYou always have to take precautions about what the opposition has. In this World Cup we see that there are teams that play in different styles and many of them have achieved positive results.โ€

He continued in his statements, as reported by Argentinaโ€™s official account via โ€œXโ€: โ€œThe greatest credit for everything that has been achieved goes to the players who commit to attending and training with maximum effort. I believe that when the opportunity arises, there will be great players who also deserve to be involved. The idea is for the team to play in the same way.โ€

He stressed: โ€œJordan is a strong opponent and we will look to win the ball and control the match. Opponents are fast and we have to remember that.โ€

Scaloni explained: โ€œI like to give everyone the opportunity to play, and when I have the opportunity, I do it because they deserve it. They are also great players. My dream as a coach is for the team to play the same way, regardless of the players on the team.โ€

Scaloni concluded his statements by saying: โ€œIf you wear the team jersey and play, it doesnโ€™t matter whether the match is important in terms of points or not. You will do everything you can to win and nothing will change. We are the same as we have been since day one.โ€
