Key events
2nd result: India 11-0 (Mandhana 10, Verma 1)
Kim Garth is in second place. And itโs great timing for Mandhana, who hits the second ball for four. And again the same third ball. Solid boundaries for the only runs off the over.

1st over: India 3-0 (Mandhana 2, Verma 1) Lucy Hamiltonโs left hand sets us in motion.
A couple of points to start with before Hamilton clears up a bit and gives Mandhana his first run. The last ball of the over sees the inside edge almost return to the stumps, but otherwise the start is tidy throughout the round.

Okay, letโs think about it. Australia with ball in hand. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma come to the center.

Lordโs is close to filling and looking at the picture.
The teams are preparing to perform the anthems. The stands are a sea of โโblue with some yellow flecks. This is a suitable device. I canโt wait.

South Africa is in for a hellish three hours. The Proteas beat Bangladesh in the first match of todayโs double-header at Lordโs. Now Iโll sit and watch, hoping Australia will do their job and send Saff to the semi-finals.
โAustralia already have this in store,โ Laura Wolvaardt wrote in the post-match press release.

Nicola Carey (Australia): โEveryone contributed. Huge game against India. The crowd is right behind them. Thereโs no doubt itโs going to be a tough crowd in India.โ

Early recognition. I lied to you before. I said India could survive a minor defeat. Categorically false.
India have six points. South Africa is in eighth place. So, Indiaโs defeat obviously leaves them with fewer points than the Proteas. Not my best math moment.

Changes for both sides.
Only for India when Kranti Gowd returns for Nandani Sharma.
And itโs a big change for Australia as Alana King misses the game and is replaced by Phoebe Litchfield.

India won the toss
Harmanpreet Kaur makes the right call and decides to take the bat.
โTodayโs game is just for fun,โ was the message from the Indian captain.
Sophie Molyneaux says if she had won the toss, Australia would still have won the bowl. So everyone is happy.

Here at Lordโs the toss has been delayed a bit after the South Africa-Bangladesh game went downhill. We will update you with news as soon as we receive it. The sun is out. Iโd take the bat.

Attention turns to the main event. Australia are four out of four and dominant throughout. Their winning margins so far stood at 65 runs, nine wickets, 98 runs and 113 runs. So everything went well for themโฆ
India registered three comfortable wins but lost to South Africa in a thriller.
South Africaโs net run rate is 0.633. In India โ 2,268. So there is even a world in which India would still be content with a small defeat today. However, I will need the help of some scientists to understand what this means for runs and wickets.

South Africa win by four wickets!
It turns out that everything was so simple. Two balls were all South Africa needed to make the five runs they needed. Chloe Tryon smashes the first ball for four and then lifts the next ball over cover for one. It wasnโt pretty, but it got the job done.
To you, Indiaโฆ

19th ended: Right. The last five required. We are at the Lordโs. A draw means a super over and Ian Smith is in the commentary area. Itโs probably written.

Well, well, well. What a fantastic catch in the deep! South Africa are six short, needing five from eight. The job is not done.

Why notโฆ letโs bowl two OBO bonus overs to win this match. If youโd like to get in touch, message me here.

It is vital that this match poses some kind of threat, South Africa must finish the job against Bangladesh.
CA currently need 10 runs from the last two overs at Lordโs โ and itโs nervy. Five wickets down. Will keep you updated until the very end.

Preamble
Welcome, welcome everyone to the final group stage game of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
On line? Fine. For Australia, not so much. They are effective if a catastrophic defeat of historic proportions is avoided. But for India, this is essentially a quarter-final. Win and theyโll advance to the semi-finals. Loseโฆ and well, assuming South Africa manage Bangladesh, where at the time of writing they need 26 runs in the last four overs, it will be home time.
Join us for a fun time. The match starts at 14:30 (BST). News of the draw and teams will be at 14.00.
