After a long poker contract, Konrad Laimer is now extending his contract with Bayern Munich. As reported by Sky, the 29-year-old World Cup participant and two-time German champion have agreed to a new two-year contract until June 30, 2029. The signing and announcement must take place promptly. His initial contract runs until the summer of 2027.
Laimer himself was reluctant to confirm the contract extension ahead of Austria’s game against Algeria in Kansas City on Sunday (4:00 am CET). “It looks good. It’s normal that so many things always come from outside. I’ve always been very relaxed,” Laimer said with a smile that left no doubt about the accuracy of the report. The TV channel talked about a new salary above the 10 million euro mark.
Particularly prized for his versatility and signed from Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig in 2023, the Austrian has developed into an important regular at full-back. Laimer played 47 official matches for Bayern last season. He scored three goals and set up nine goals.
Recently, “Kicker” announced that the contract renewal is coming soon and the long game of poker is coming to an end. Negotiations reportedly lasted more than six months. Meanwhile, both sides are said to be too far apart on expected salaries. “There are two points of view that do not fit together at the moment.
