Home and Away’s Melissa George mourns her co-star Dieter Brummer

Melissa George spoke about the early days of her fame Home and Away especially the time spent with her late co-star Dieter Brümmer.

She shared on Starpodcast There’s something to talk about that she often rewatches previous episodes to relive the magic of Shane and Angel, one of the show’s star couples, played by Brummer and George, respectively.

The 49-year-old actress recalled the fame she experienced at such an early age and stage of her career, selling out Westfield shopping centers and having five levels of fans waiting to see Shane and Angel in the flesh.

“I watch (the show) a lot because Dieter is no longer with us and it’s just an unfathomable devastation,” she said of the late actor, who died in 2021 at age 45.

“I re-watched the scene when he died on the stone – the last scene with Shane – and it was just heartbreaking.

“I think about him, I think about the past, I think about being grateful for the opportunity to play such a wonderful role.”

Under treatment The actress also opened up about missing the actor himself, sharing, “It’s too many years of him suffering that have been overlooked. And when you suffer in silence and don’t reach out, I think that’s when it gets to the point where it’s too much for him.”

“It really breaks my heart because he was a beautiful man. It’s very sad.”

After playing Angel in the popular Australian series, George moved to the United States and made a name for herself.
