The Social Democrats continue to lose favor with voters. The situation for the black-red coalition is becoming increasingly difficult โ including with regard to a possible majority in the Bundestag.
The SPD continues to lose support in the current Sunday question and falls behind the Greens for the first time. In the current Sunday Insa trend organized by Bild, the Social Democrats gain only 12 percent and thus lose another percentage point compared to the previous week.
The AfD remains the strongest force with 29 percent of the vote. The Union scored 22 percent and is therefore significantly behind the AfD. The Greens gained 13 percent and overtook the SPD. The left makes up 10 percent. The FDP (4 percent) and BSW (3 percent) will currently not be able to enter the Bundestag. The remaining parties make up 7 percent.

Compared to the 2025 federal elections, the SPD has lost additional support. Then she achieved her worst result in the history of federal elections โ 16.4 percent. Together, the Union and the SPD scored only 34 percent in the poll.
The government coalition is also losing overall support. According to the analysis, after the federal elections the CDU/CSU and the SPD together lost almost every fourth voter.
Currently, there are only a few options for possible government formation. The alliance of the SPD, Greens and Left will not have a parliamentary majority of a total of 35 percent. Mathematically, a so-called Kenyan coalition consisting of the Union, SPD and Greens would have a majority of 47 percent.
An alliance between the Union and AfD, receiving a total of 51 percent, would also be mathematically possible. However, the CDU and CSU rule out cooperation with the AfD due to their decision of incompatibility.
Regarding Sundayโs trend, the public opinion research institute surveyed a total of 1,204 eligible citizens between June 22 and June 26. The statistical error is plus/minus 2.9 percentage points.
