A 27-year-old man drowned in the Neckar near Heidelberg on Saturday evening. Despite significant efforts by police and rescue services, he was only rescued from the water dead. Any resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
Just swim in the water
According to the police, the young man arrived with his friends on the banks of the Neckar in the Wiblingen region. He then went into the water alone to bathe. When his friends could no longer see him, they called the central control center. The incident occurred around 8 pm.
Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful
Police and rescuers from the German Life Saving Society (DLRG) were on duty. Divers found the man lifeless underwater. Immediate resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, police said. The Heidelberg criminal police began a further investigation.
