In fact, after the incident in Kota, Rajasthan, the Rajasthan Narcotics Control Department inspected the drugs, injections and surgical supplies available there. In its report, M/s Jackson Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. A sample of TOCIN injection (5 ml oxytocin) from Amritsar (Punjab) failed the test.

The oxytocin component present in the injection was not detected in sufficient quantities. In Kota, pregnant women were given 1 ml injections from this company, resulting in the death of 5 pregnant women.

Subsequently, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) conducted an investigation at the companyโ€™s plants in Punjab and Himachal and after the investigation recommended cancellation of the companyโ€™s license.

The ministry has asked the state government for a full report.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has sought a factual report from the state government on the entire episode. So investigation into this matter can be carried out in other areas as well.
