At a rest stop on the A7 highway, a police patrol makes a sad discovery: a truck driver sits lifeless behind the wheel.
A lifeless man was found in a car park on the A7 motorway. Emergency services found the truck driver dead in the cab of his truck around 10:45 a.m. on Friday, June 26. The lifeless man was directly behind the wheel at the Stilhorn-Ost rest stop just before Marmstorf in Harburg.
Since the man could no longer be contacted in the morning, people were already very worried about him, as the official explained. The driver apparently pulled the truck into the parking lot shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Thursday evening and parked it there. However, the fire brigade, rescue service and police were no longer able to provide any assistance to the man on the spot.

According to police, there is nothing so far to indicate foul play or third party involvement. However, police secured the vehicle for further police action and temporarily sealed the cabin. In such cases, careful security of the site is part of the authoritiesโ standard procedure.

Investigators from the State Criminal Police Department (GKA) are currently investigating the case. In order to determine without any doubt the exact circumstances of the death, the body should be sent to the medical examinerโs office as soon as possible. It is currently completely unclear whether there were possible illnesses in the past or whether heat-related health problems played a role. Police have not released any additional information about the identity of the deceased driver.
