It doesnโt have the same fanfare or slow rollout as the NFLโs Top 100 Players list, but CBS Sportsโ Pete Prisco has been compiling his own version of the Top 100 Players list for years. This yearโs list included three Chicago Bears teams, and it started off the list with Bears tight end Colston Loveland at No. 100.
He had 58 catches and six touchdowns after a slow start as a rookie in 2025. He added 12 catches in two playoff games, which shows where heโs headed this season. (Last season: NR)
Loveland is just one of three tight ends on the list: George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers at No. 49 and Brock Bowers of the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 27.
Quarterback Caleb Williams was the next Bears player on the list, checking in at No. 70.
Williams took a big step forward in his first season working with new coach Ben Johnson. Every aspect of his game improved as he led the Bears to the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how he continues to grow this season. (Last season: NR)
Other quarterbacks on this list were: Bo Nix, Denver Broncos (87), Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (84), Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (80), Brock Purdy, 49ers (75), Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks (72), Jaden Daniels, Washington Commanders (69), Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars (65), Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers (63), Drake May, New England Patriots (61), Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (57), Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers (51), Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (43), Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens (10), Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs (7), Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals (5), Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills (3) and Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (2).
What do you think about where Caleb ranks among defenders?
The final Bear on the list was pro Joe Thuney, ranked 55th.
In his first season with the Bears, he helped bolster the offensive line. Heโs really good in the run game and has been a consistent pass protector for years. Heโs a fighter. (Last season: No. 55)
Prisco had Quenton Nelson of the Indianapolis Colts (38) and Chris Lindstrom of the Atlanta Falcons (33) as the only defensive players ranked higher than Thuney, who was named Defensive Player of the Year after his stellar 2025 year.
What do you think about the list? Were the bears abused?
