Margot Robbie's hard-R-rated thriller is officially returning to streaming

Margot Robbieโ€™s most controversial R-rated film (and the one that launched her Hollywood career) will be returning to streaming very soon. The Australian actress has quickly risen to A-list status thanks to films such as Suicide Squad (and so much the better Suicide Squad), I, Tonya, Wuthering Heights, Tarzanand how could we forget, Barbie. But before all this, Robbie got her big break working for Martin Scorsese in one of the best and most misunderstood crime thrillers of modern times, and itโ€™s returning to streaming.

13 years after it first hit theaters, Margot Robbieโ€™s incredibly risquรฉ film The Wolf of Wall Street will stream on Hulu next month. Based on the true story of former Wall Street broker Jordan Belfort (played by Leonardo DiCaprio in the film), Robbie plays Naomi LaPaglia, Belfortโ€™s second wife, who is intimately involved with his many illegal dealings and his extravagant lifestyle. If youโ€™ve heard stories about what Wall Street brokers did in their spare time, Jordan Belfort is one of the reasons they earned such a reputation. The Wolf of Wall Street does not shy away from an illegal lifestyle. The Wolf of Wall Street will stream on Hulu on June 1st.

The Wolf of Wall Street became a giant hit in 2013. The film has a decent Rotten Tomatoes score of 79%, with a much higher audience score of 83%. But the filmโ€™s box office was a lot like Jordan Belfortโ€™s bank account. It grossed a staggering $407 million, becoming Martin Scorseseโ€™s highest-grossing film to date. This is even more impressive considering its R rating. Other countries, such as the UK, further limited the film to an 18 rating.

The Wolf of Wall Street is a misunderstood masterpiece

Paramount Pictures

Your welcome to The Wolf of Wall Street will go one of two ways. You will either see Belfortโ€™s story of extreme greed, corruption and gluttony, or you will be morally disgusted by his decisions. Or, if critical thinking is not your forte, you may be one of the many young people who saw the film and idealized Belfortโ€™s lifestyle, seeing The Wolf of Wall Street as a template rather than a cautionary tale.

Even 13 years later, The Wolf of Wall Street is still part of the โ€œsigma grindsetโ€ and โ€œhustle cultureโ€ created by these toxic male types. Itโ€™s incredibly ironic that the film is yet another Martin Scorsese fantasy film about the fall from grace of one greedy criminal, and yet so many people see Jordan Belfort as an almost messianic figure.

โ€˜The Wolf of Wall Streetโ€™ Will Be a Hit on Free Streaming

As well as its newest streaming home, Hulu. The Wolf of Wall Street also used various free streaming platforms such as Tubi and Pluto TV. Almost every time a film is added to one of the sites, it rises up the streaming charts, proving the filmโ€™s enduring popularity (though sometimes for the wrong reasons). If you donโ€™t want to wait until July to watch the movie, itโ€™s currently streaming for free on Pluto TV.
