Jazz event
Slime Washington
Kamasi Washingtonโs last visit to FIJM? It was July 2022, at Place des Festivals, when COVID-19 gradually began to loosen its grip on our enjoyment. People of good taste who were there still talk about it as an anthology evening. Good news: The stars are aligned for the saxophonist to take another big step this Sunday. For what ? Because his last album, Fearless movement (2024) is nothing less than a summit. โA tense album, replete with proposals and demanding careful listening, even a certain commitment,โ wrote our colleague Jean-Christophe Laurence, before clarifying that โthe result nevertheless remains (relatively) accessible.โ A perfect balance indeed.

Saint Vincent

Annie Clark in Oshiga in August 2018.
Over the past 20 years, St. Vincent has established herself as one of the most tenacious thinkers in the indie rock universe. A rare success: the woman the IRS calls Annie Clark has created a catalog of impeccable consistency, but not without surprising pranks. She was thus the ideal artist to experience the luxury of a symphony concert, a privilege she was able to experience for the first time in September 2025 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, during an evening that the local press described as a triumph. A recent album taken from it points in the same direction, and it looks like a cool retrospective. In other words: all hopes are justified.

Ping Pong Go
Do you like it Zelda and Herbie Hancock, Mario Kart and Chick Corea, but have you never dared to imagine that your two passions could intersect? Ping Pong Go cares about your happiness. Notable mercenary musicians on the Quebec scene, keyboardist Vincent Gagnon and drummer P.E. Beaudoin is shining this summer with Lou-Adrian Cassidy and Ariana Roy, but in his spare time they perform in a style they call โgamer jazz.โ Released last April, their second album entitled A devastating battle manages to establish a connection between jazz fusion and polished pop music, Beautiful and warm and Japanese urban pop, Andre Gagnonโs piano and your old Nintendo. A good reason to leave our controllers for a moment.
Club Montreal, 20:00, free.
