The National Weather Service issued a brief tornado warning for parts of Clackamas County on Saturday afternoon, saying there were reports of a funnel cloud near Molalla.

The warning was lifted around 4 p.m.

โ€œExpect damage to mobile homes, roofs and vehicles,โ€ the National Weather Service in Portland said. โ€œTAKE COVER NOW! Go to the basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a solid building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home or vehicle, move to the nearest secure shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.โ€

โ€œThe observerโ€™s report is the reason NWS Portland issued the warning,โ€ said Storm Tracker 2 digital meteorologist Bobby Corser. โ€œWe detected the rotation on radar, but ground truth confirmed it.โ€

NWS Portland said a storm watcher reported seeing several funnel clouds.

The alert was issued for possible thunderstorms and hail in Western Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Shortly before the funnel cloud was spotted, a golfer was struck by lightning in Clackamas County.
