This hunter has an interesting past that few people knew about. He spontaneously speaks about this in the anniversary issue.
Hamburg – Sebastian Jacobi (48) is considered a walking encyclopedia for many viewers. IN ORD-Quiz “Gefragt – GeJagt” regularly amazes the “god of quizzes” with its extensive knowledge, often even on topics that go far beyond the scope of classical general education. During the anniversary week of the popular show, the hunter unexpectedly revealed why he knows the Hungarian language so well. Even presenter Alexander Bommes (50) was amazed.

The occasion was the issue of parliamentary elections in Hungary. After Sebastian Jacobi not only learned the correct answer, but also explained how to pronounce the name of election winner Peter Magyar in Hungarian, he revealed a hitherto little-known secret.
The star of the series “I asked – I hunted” was the coach of the Hungarian national team.
“I also have a certain affinity for Hungary. I was the coach of the Hungarian men’s curling team for two years and a few words stuck with me,” Sebastian Jacobi explained in the July 20 episode of “Asked – Hunted.” Moderator Alexander Bommes reacted with surprise and admitted: “Nobody knows this fact. Coach of the Hungarian national team. I didn’t know this for 15 years.” Jacobi responded with a laugh: “That’s true, I haven’t mentioned it yet. Questions about Hungary arise very rarely.”

However, it is no coincidence that Jacobi has a close connection with curling. The Oberstdorf native comes from a family of curlers and has himself enjoyed great sporting success. Between 1996 and 1998 he took part in the World Under-21 Championship and won bronze in 1996. The biggest triumph of his career finally followed in 2008: the European mixed curling title in Kitzbühel.
At the same time, he built an impressive career in the quiz show. The economist won the first edition of the ZDF format “Der Quiz-Champion” in 2012 and has been part of the permanent hunting team “Gefragt – Gejagt” since 2013. He also works as a controller in the steel industry and moderates pub quizzes, for which he writes his own questions. From July 20 to 23, Gefragt – Gejagt celebrates an anniversary week on the occasion of its 1000th edition. Double episodes will air on these four days at 6:00 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. Sources used: Asked – Hunted, ARD
