Brill Embolo helped end host Canadaโs hopes of a Round of 16 meeting on home soil as undefeated Switzerland finished top of Group B with a 2-1 win in Vancouver.
The Rennes frontman brought on Ruben Vargas and Johan Manzambi after the break as the Swiss ensured they would return to the same ground for the knockout stage despite a response from substitute Promise David.
Jesse Marshโs team, which finished above Bosnia and Herzegovina thanks to a personal best, will travel to Los Angeles.
The Swiss should have taken the lead inside 11 minutes when Embolo played behind defender Richie Laryea, but his shot was blocked by goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau before Manzambiโs follow-up effort was saved by Derek Cornelius.
Canada frontman Kyle Larin was equally wasteful two minutes later, although a late offside flag saved him from blushing, but he did much better after Jonathan Davidโs pass in the 33rd minute forced Gregor Kobel to save safely with his right foot.

Kobel saved Ali Ahmedโs shot at the near post after being picked out by Jonathan David, who later fired a left-footed shot wide of goal with four minutes left in a goalless first half.
However, the game came to life just 40 seconds after the restart when Embolo took the ball from defender Alistair Johnston on the Swiss right flank and crossed to the far post, where Vargas curled past Crepeau at the near post.
The Canadian goalkeeper was at fault as Murat Yakinโs men extended their lead in the 57th minute by allowing Manzambi to slip through his hands after Embolo intercepted the ball and sent it into his own line.
Promise David gave his side hope with 14 minutes remaining when he sent Nathan Salibaโs fine cross past Kobel, but Johnston was unable to head past the goalkeeper in stoppage time.
