The 2026 College Certificate exams will begin on June 26 for the 853,784 candidates who took French today. They first worked on dictation and grammar/comprehension questions, then on the essay topic.

General patent

Here is the Dictation subject and the College Certificate Grammar/Comprehension subject for the General Series. The dictation was an excerpt from Lightning ManBlaise Cendrars, and issues related to a corpus of documents consisting of excerpts from Lightning ManBlaise Cendrars, and a still from the film Paths of Glory.

Here is a written test given to candidates who had a choice between two subjects. The first was a matter of imagination: “When I returned to camp, even before dawn, people said to me: “Listen, corporal, you scared us a lot last night.” What happened to you? The narrator then tells them the story of his night, masking his fear and presenting himself in a heroic light. You will tell this scene. The second was a subject for reflection, in which you had to write an argument around the following question: “What does the discovery of works set in a different era give to the reader or viewer?”

Professional Certificate

Here is the dictation topic and the grammar/comprehension topic for the professional series. The dictation was an excerpt from Octopus by Monica Sabolo, taken from the book The land is ours!

Questions related to the body of documents consisting of extracts from Octopus Monica Sabolo and engraving published in Little magazine in 1902.

Here is the written test for Vocational College Diploma Candidates. They had a choice between two items. The first was an object of invention associated with the engraving of the case: “According to the engraving, imagine that you are a witness to this scene. Tell it, specifying the circumstances of the event, its course and its outcome.” The second was a point of reflection, for which they had to answer the following question: “More and more young people are becoming involved in protecting and preserving the environment. Why is this commitment important?”
