England could be without Jordan Henderson for the quarter-finals after the midfielder injured his wrist in a freak accident while celebrating the team’s victory over Mexico.

Footage of Henderson attempting to climb over the billboard was posted on social media, with his foot appearing to get caught on the edge of the sign.
Henderson remained on the turf clutching his hand before nearby teammate Dan Byrne signaled to team officials for help.
Medics eventually called for a stretcher to transport Henderson to the team barns, where he received oxygen due to the stadium’s high altitude.
Henderson was one of the first players to leave the England crowd. Miracle Wall played. He did not take the field against Mexico.
England coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed in an interview that Henderson injured his left wrist and was taken to hospital after the match. He called the injury “very serious.”
“It looked really bad,” he told the BBC after his team’s victory.
“Jordan not being with us right now just doesn’t fit with this evening. I don’t know what’s going on… the doctor told me he’s in the hospital.”
English media reported that Henderson will remain in Mexico and his team will return to their base in Kansas City in the coming hours.
One of England’s medical workers will stay with him.
Henderson is now almost certain to join Reece James, who is out with a hamstring injury.
Tuchel will also have to work without defender Jarell Quance after he was shown a red card for a nasty challenge on Mexican Jesus Gallardo.
