Various artists around the world continue to show solidarity with Venezuela, mainly with children, after the two devastating earthquakes that caused the June 24 tragedy, and Shakira is also joining this noble cause through the FIFA Global Citizen Foundation.
The Colombian artist is going through a period of many commitments, but she does not forget her brother country, Venezuela, and it is for this reason that through a video, in collaboration with the foundation, they confirmed educational assistance for Venezuelan children.
Shakira and Global Citizen to donate $500,000 to education in Venezuela
Since the official World Cup song “Dai Dai” was released, Shakira said she would donate all her royalties to this association FIFA and this Friday joined it in confirming that a significant amount of funds will be allocated for the education of children in Venezuela affected by the double earthquake.
“Millions of children are growing up without access to education nor to the opportunities they deserve, which is why I am proud to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund,” the Colombian initially emphasized.
To this he added a major financial contribution: “I am also proud to announce that the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund will provide US$500,000 support organizations in Venezuela that help children whose education has been interrupted.”
Global Citizen and Shakira invite leaders to join in collaboration
Likewise, Shakira and Global Citizen are inviting the leaders of Germany, France and Portugal to join the cause, as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has already done.
