The first match of the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals has been set. And it’s a rematch of the 2022 World Cup semi-final, which Les Bleus won 2-0.
Morocco defeated Canada 3-0 on Saturday in a round of 16 match at Houston Stadium to become the first African team to reach back-to-back World Cup quarter-finals.
Although all three tournament co-hosts advanced to the round of 16, scheduling meant Canada was the first home team to be eliminated.
Behind Golden Boot candidate Kylian Mbappe, France beat Paraguay 1-0 at Philadelphia Stadium on Saturday.
Morocco and France will meet in the World Cup quarterfinals on Thursday, July 9 at Boston Stadium on FOX (streaming on FOX One).
Morocco finished seventh in the latest FIFA rankings, while France was in third place behind Argentina and Spain respectively.
