Alex de Minaur has a fourth-round lead over his opponent but the Australian won’t take his chance at a career-best Wimbledon for granted.
The Sydneysiders will take on ninth-seeded Flavio Cobolli on Monday night to battle for a place in the final eight.
De Minaur beat Zachaya Svaida in four sets to keep his campaign alive, while Cobolli recovered from an 18-minute capitulation in the first set to beat Karen Khachanov 0-6 7-6 6-7 6-2 6-2.
The winner will face whoever emerges victorious in a wildcard battle on Center Court when Gregor Dimitrov takes on Britain’s Arthur Fehry.
The match of the night will feature second-seeded Alexander Zverev, as well as sixth-seeded Taylor Fritz taking on Alexander Bublik.
In the fourth round, Alexandra Ela will play Jasmine Paolini. The action will begin on center court. The game also features Madison Keys and Martha Kostyuk.
