Searches carried out in Rouyn-Noranda and Malartic, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, led to the Quebec Security Service making three arrests and seizing several drugs.
Police from MRC La Vallée-de-l’Or searched two houses on Des Pins and Miquelon streets in Malartic on Wednesday.
A 30-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man were arrested and released, but the suspects will appear at a later date for further proceedings.
“They may face drug-related charges,” the SQ said in a press release.
During the intervention, police seized approximately 85 grams of cocaine, nearly 3,000 methamphetamine pills and three imitation firearms.
On Thursday morning, police officers from the city of Rouyn-Noranda conducted another search in a residential building located on Rue Vanasse.
The 21-year-old man was arrested and later released pending an upcoming appearance to face possible drug trafficking charges.
A large quantity of drugs, including illegal cannabis, cocaine and magic mushrooms, was also seized there, as well as jewelry and $6,000 in cash.
