Paige Price Muniz, wife of actor Frankie Muniz, stepped in to defend her husband over their controversial divorce filing.

Malcolm in the spotlight The 40-year-old star announced her split after 10 years of marriage in a social media post on Wednesday (July 1).

However, Muniz deleted his original video announcement, which showed the former couple happily dancing along with their five-year-old son Mauz to We the Kings’ “Check Yes, Juliet” after some apparently criticized it as inappropriate given the nature of the news.

“Who says you can’t be best friends with your mommy?” he wrote in the post, revealing that he and Page had separated privately before divorcing.

After the video was deleted, Muniz posted a separate announcement along with a photo of the former couple along with their son.

Page, 33, defended Muniz in the comments of the new post, writing: “Frankie, I’m so sorry you felt the need to delete an old funny video of our family because people are so mean to you.

“This world is so shitty… divorce is bad, of course. Not that we’re excited about it… but we’re two adults who know how to be on the same team.”

She concluded: “I can’t believe people could look into this.”

When asked by one person why Paige decided to reach out to Frankie publicly, she replied: “I’ve said it to his face. A thousand times. And I’ll say it in text just as many times because I genuinely care about it. That’s the whole point.”

Page appeared to reference the public’s reaction to Muniz’s first post on her own Instagram Story. “The Internet is a scary place. Wishing you all a kinder sea,” she wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of the ocean.

Announcing the news of the divorce in a second post, Muniz wrote, “After 10 wonderful years together, we have grown to realize that our relationship feels most natural and strong as a deep friendship and as co-parents. We share an incredible son who remains the center of our world, and we are both happier, stronger parents because of the love and growth we shared.”

“I am forever grateful to Paige for everything she has done for me and our family. She put her dreams on hold so I could achieve mine, and she has always been my biggest supporter. That foundation of respect and friendship is here to stay.”

“We are excited to continue to build Muniz Racing (their motorsports brand and racing organization) together and raise our boy together with the same teamwork and love we have always had.”
