Digital Desk, New Delhi. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in 22 states of the country. Heavy rain with thunder and lightning is possible in these areas over the next 12 hours.

According to the meteorological department, a low pressure area is forming in the northern Bay of Bengal. Due to its impact, the monsoon will be very active over the next 7 days in eastern Uttar Pradesh, eastern and northeastern India and western Himalayan regions with increased rainfall.

Very heavy rain is likely in many parts of Odisha today. On the contrary, rainfall will be a little slow in the plains of South Peninsular India, West Central India and North West over the next 6-7 days.

Meteorological department warning in these 22 states

The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Along with this, heavy rain is expected in Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and West Bengal in the coming days.
