Calgary police are closing the parking lot and entrance to Nose Hill Park this weekend as the search for missing 11-year-old Parker continues.
In a news release Saturday, police said the west parking lot and trail entrance from Shaganappi NW Trail will be closed through the weekend to allow search teams to work in the area safely and effectively.
They stressed that the closure does not mean Parker has been found or that investigators have information that he is in Nose Hill Park.
Residents are asked to use other entrances and avoid areas where police and search partners are working.

The new search effort comes as efforts to find Parker enter their ninth day.
He was last seen in the 5000 to 6000 block of Travis Crescent, Nev., in the Thorncliffe area of Calgary at approximately 12:52 p.m. on July 16th.

Police previously asked residents of several nearby streets, including Travis Street, Travis Crescent, Trail Drive, Taylor Crescent and Travis Place (NE), to repeatedly check vacant homes and surrounding properties.
Local estate agents have also joined the search, organizing inspections of vacant properties and listings in Thorncliffe and the surrounding area.

Calgary realtor Justine Poirier told Global News that agents are coordinating through a shared spreadsheet to ensure vacant properties are being searched.
“We all come together,” Poirier said.
Poirier said as part of the investigation, police also collected footage from some of the residence cameras.
Police are continuing to ask anyone in the Thorncliffe area who has CCTV, home CCTV or dash cam footage from July 16 to come forward, even if Parker does not appear in the video.
The yellow alert for Parker remains in effect.
