Nestle India's first-quarter profit jumped 47.9% YoY to Rs 975 crore as shares rose over 2%Nestle India’s first-quarter profit jumped 47.9% YoY to Rs 975 crore as shares rose over 2%New Delhi: Shares of Nestle India rose over 2 percent to Rs 1,490 on Wednesday after the company reported a 47.9 percent year-on-year increase in its profit after tax for the first quarter of fiscal 2026-27 (April-June).

In a stock exchange filing, the company, while reporting financial results, said its profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 975.1 crore for the quarter, up 47.9 percent from the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Nestle India also reported total sales of Rs 6,363.3 crore for the quarter, registering a growth of 25.4%. Domestic sales grew 25.0 percent, and the company’s EBITDA margin stood at 24.2 percent. Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 5.06.

The company said it further accelerated its reduction in operating expenses during the quarter while continuing to increase investment in its brands. Advertising expenses rose more than 40 percent, although the company maintained a healthy EBITDA margin of 24.2 percent.

All four product groups delivered strong double-digit growth, supported by strong double-digit growth across all channels, the company said.

It said the confectionery group recorded another strong quarter with double-digit volume growth, driven by premiumization and e-commerce. The company added that KITKAT continued to gain market share during the quarter.

On the business front, Nestle India said its e-commerce business has maintained strong growth momentum with Quick Commerce emerging as a key growth driver. The company attributed the results to improved product availability, a more tailored portfolio of platform-specific packages in relevant categories, concentrated investments in media both on- and off-platform, and strong participation during key holiday events.

Commenting on the results, Manish Tiwari, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestle India said, “We delivered a strong quarter with sales growth of 25.4%, driven by volume growth. Sales stood at INR 6,363.3 crore, driven by continued consumer confidence in our brands and strong focus on execution.”

He added: “Exports recorded growth of 35.6% despite ongoing geopolitical headwinds.”

The company said the quarter reflected strong demand across its product portfolio, continued investments in brands and strong momentum in its e-commerce and fast-commerce channels, which contributed to robust sales and earnings growth.
