Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart Tour will be coming to offline mode on iOS and Android in September 2026.
The free-to-play mobile game, which launched six years ago, will close on September 29, 2026 at 11:00 pm PT.
“We sincerely thank the many players who have loved and supported the game since it came out so long ago,” Nintendo said.
Nintendo did not give a reason for the closure. There will be no offline version of Mario Kart Tour.
This is different from Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which received a premium version after closing in 2024.
On July 7, Nintendo stopped auto-renewals and new subscriptions for the Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass in preparation for closure. In-game currency has also been suspended.
Subscriptions that renew after this date will end on August 4, 2026. From this date, Gold Pass benefits will be available to all players for free until service ends.
Nintendo will end development of Mario Kart Tour in 2023. No new tracks, drivers, karts or gliders have been added since the Anniversary Tour ended.
