David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that the Champions League holders do not need to sell the France international anyway after agreeing to sell Goncal Ramos to Milan.

Another blow for Liverpool comes after the deal for Yann Diomande fell through, further narrowing their attacking options.

PSG set an obscene price for Bradley Barcola

There is no doubt that Barcola is an exceptional footballer and would well deserve a significant price tag if he were to leave Ligue 1 this summer.

But is he worthy of a fee that could break most clubs’ spending records? We have serious doubts about this.

Ultimately, it should be kept in mind that the 23-year-old is not considered an absolute starting option at PSG, which should certainly have some impact on the price the French champions can reasonably charge.

Liverpool can still take advantage of Barcola’s disappointment

Ornstein’s report takes into account that contract negotiations with PSG continue to drag on with the left winger.

That’s because he is far from happy with the amount of game time he is currently getting in the French capital and he is “insisting on more starts.”

After all, Luis Enrique’s side may have no choice but to bring on Bradley Barcola if they end up agreeing moves for Yan Diomande and Magnes Akliusz. Two additions that will undoubtedly further complicate their No. 29’s minutes and starts options.

RB Leipzig Holding about Jan Diomande

However, what is not currently being said by top managers in Germany is that RB Leipzig is firmly committed to keeping the Ivory Coast squad for next season.

It is possible that this will depend on whether favorable conditions are created for PSG to specifically take advantage of next summer.

However, this could have dire consequences for Liverpool’s continued interest in Barkola this summer.

If PSG aren’t short of cash after selling Ramos – and don’t have to make significant outlays on Diomande – then they have the right to keep the player, who has two years left on his contract.

Either way, this potentially looks like another complicated transfer saga that we could do without.
