Leeds United signed defender Tarik Muharemovic for £34.1 million from Serie A side Sassuolo.
The 23-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international has signed a five-year contract at Elland Road.
He replaces Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton for £20 million in June, and is Leeds’ second signing of the summer following the free transfer of Harry Wilson from Fulham.
“I will give everything for this club. I will give everything, every game,” he said.
“I just want to win. I hate losing and I will fight for every ball, even if it is my head or my feet, I will leave.”
Muharemovic appeared three times for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Cup, including in the round of 16 defeat to hosts USA.
In that match, he was fouled by Folarin Balogun and the American striker was sent off, although FIFA later overturned his suspension after intervention by US President Donald Trump and White House officials.
Muharemovic was born in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana and began his career in Austrian football, making his debut for Wolfsberger in 2021.
After a spell at Italian giants Juventus, where he did not feature in the first team, he was sold to Sassuolo in 2025 after a successful loan spell.
Juventus are reportedly set to receive 50% of the fee due to a clause included in the deal to sell the defender last summer.
