TimesofIndia.com in Birmingham: More than 200 kilometers from Southampton, where the Indian T20I team will look to avoid a humiliating defeat in the fifth and final match against England, preparations for the ODI camp will begin. Seven members of India’s ODI squad are likely to take wickets at Edgbaston ahead of the start of the series on July 14.Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill were in London ahead of the three-match series. According to TimesofIndia.com, Rohit has conducted several sessions at local clubs in and around London, leveraging the support of young bowlers. This is a big task for 39-year-old Rohit and 37-year-old Virat. Rohit suffered a hamstring injury during the IPL but returned in time for the series against Afghanistan where he scored 16, 48 and 79 runs respectively.Kohli, meanwhile, will be making his first appearance since the IPL 2026 final where he suffered from a hamstring problem. This forced him to miss three ODIs against Afghanistan and Yashasvi Jaiswal took his place. Now that Kohli is fit and available, Jaiswal is out of the picture despite hitting a ton of shots against the Afghans.Kohli too took up the matter after receiving full approval from the Council of Europe at the end of June. He held semi-regular sessions at Lord’s, which is the venue for the third ODI.Skipper Gill was also in the UK last week and conducted several training sessions at local venues. He was also present at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone and graced the Wimbledon Royal Box for the semi-final between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Gurnur Brar and K.L. Rahul arrived in Birmingham on Friday. The quartet are also expected to take part in one of the three training sessions for Team India before the start of the series. The ODI series begins on July 14 in Birmingham before moving to Cardiff (July 16) and London (July 19).
