Four people were arrested on Tuesday, June 30, after the discovery of ten kilograms of ketamine hidden in bags of food in La Col-sur-Loup in the Alpes-Maritimes, the national gendarmerie said in a press release on Friday, July 3.
Last March “A bag containing 10 kilograms of ketamine hidden in bags of animal feed.” was delivered “by mistake to private individuals”specified in the press release. This discovery led to “Opening an investigation into the import and trafficking of drugs, as well as money laundering”led by the Grasse research team. Investigators have established “a structured organization providing, in particular, an environment for rave parties.”
Several searches took place on Tuesday, resulting in the seizure of more than 18 kilograms of drugs (ketamine, 4-MMC, cocaine, MDMA, ecstasy and cannabis). “for a total resale value of 700,000 to 900,000 euros”. The National Gendarmerie also indicates that “EUR 323,000 was seized.”
Among those arrested, two suspects appeared in court on Friday. A third person was summoned in September and a fourth was summoned to enter a preliminary guilty plea.
