The triumph of Harlan Coben’s “Just for Your Life” is thwarted—at least for now. The thriller series from the mega-successful Netflix universe launched on the streamer on June 18, 2026, and since then has almost consistently topped the TV series charts.
At least until now, because starting today the new game takes first place in the coveted streaming rankings. The competition is also a thriller, originally from France and called JIGN.
GIGN pushes Just for Your Life from number one on Netflix charts

The series centers on unit chief David (Tomer Sisley), who really wanted to finally leave his active duty behind. When GIGN faces a serious attack, David is forced to take the lead again. The fact that David’s 25-year-old godson Max (Tristan Zanchi) has recently joined the squad doesn’t make life any easier for David.
Behind the series is Julien Leclerc as director and co-writer, who previously directed, among others, the Netflix film The Wages of Fear and the series In the Eyes of the Wolf. GIGN is one of the first French productions to be officially supported by the real GIGN organization.

The series was added to Netflix on July 22, 2026 and immediately reached the top of the charts. In Germany, GIGN is currently listed there along with the following titles (as of July 23, 2026):
GIGN features six episodes, each about 50 minutes long. This makes an action series suitable perfect for marathon on a long day or evening.
At the moment there is no information about the second season. However, since the series ends with a cliffhangerThe chances of an extension are generally good. Now Netflix’s streaming metrics should do the rest.
