A particularly large wild deposit was discovered at Kursan. The offender, if identified, will have to pay 135 euros for each item left behind and restore the premises.
In Kursana, as in many towns and villages, illegal dumping is a real scourge. This week, new large items were spotted near containers on rue Alsace-Lorraine in Coursan. The mayor’s office reported this on its social networks.
A bed, sofa and various items were thrown onto a public road, turning the premises into a veritable open-air dump. While some may view this as simple rudeness, city officials note that such behavior harms the environment, strains municipal services and imposes costs on the community.

A bed, a sofa, all sorts of objects… There is a particularly large illegal dump in Kursan.
This time the issue was resolved quickly. “Thanks to the elements allowing the identification of the culprit, the municipal police intervened without delay”– the municipality explains.
The offender now faces a fine of €135 per item left behind under current regulations. He will also have to remove any remaining bulky items to restore the site.
Through this intervention, the municipality wants to remind people that illegal dumping does not go unpunished. Inspections continue, and those found guilty of committing such offenses are subject to financial punishment and are also required to clean the premises themselves.
A quick reminder: the recycling center is free. “Illegal dumping is very costly,” warns the city of Kursan.
