Americas 250th Anniversary ​​4th of July Celebration Set for Minot

ELOISE OGDEN/MDN Members of the Minot Air Force Base Honor Guard take part in the 2025 Minot Shrine Club Fourth of July Parade. This year’s parade will take place on Saturday, July 4, starting at 10 a.m.

Minot and other North Dakota communities will celebrate Saturday, July 4, the most important milestone in this country’s history—the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The city of Minot has a number of special events planned Saturday to bring the community together with patriotic traditions, according to Visit Minot. This includes activities for the whole family, live entertainment, sports and a spectacular fireworks finale.

The day begins with the Minot Shrine Club’s annual Fourth of July Parade at 10 a.m.

The parade begins at the corner of Northwest 25th Street and Northwest Fourth Avenue. It will travel along Northwest Fourth Avenue to Northwest Sixth Street. The line will be in the parking lot of the Catholic Church of St. John the Apostle. Those who would like to participate in the parade, including businesses and organizations, can contact Dan Olson at 263-7719 or Jim Clifford at 340-0385. Businesses are encouraged to make a small donation to the Minot Shrine Club. Non-profit properties are free.

The parade is followed by the Minot Park Fourth of July Festival in Oak Park. Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, games and family activities.

There will also be a Hot Tots baseball game at Corbett Field followed by racing at Nodak Speedway at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds beginning at 7 p.m.

The racing will be followed by a choreographed fireworks show presented by the Minot Fireworks Association and billed as the largest choreographed fireworks show in North Dakota.

Other communities

Nearby communities including Berthold and Velva also have July 4th events planned. There is a parade planned in Berthold, starting at 11 a.m., and a number of other events.

Velva has a parade that starts at 10am and other events.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a sunny day in Minot with a temperature of around 87 degrees on July 4th. According to forecasters, showers and thunderstorms are possible.

Base aircraft takes part in events

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE. Aircraft from Minot Air Force Base will take part in the event on Friday, July 3, at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, according to a Minot Air Force Base spokesman.

B-52 bombers from the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot AFB are also scheduled to fly over New York City and Washington, D.C., on Saturday, July 4.
