Iconic Channel 4 documentary series 24 Hours in Police Custody returns this evening with a “brutal” episode complete with viewer guidance.
The popularity of this groundbreaking documentary has skyrocketed since its debut over a decade ago. Channel 4 audiences now eagerly await new episodes, regularly demanding more frequent releases.
Earlier this year, new episodes aired on the channel explored disturbing cases, once again immersing viewers in real-life investigations as detectives work against the clock to achieve justice.
While trying to achieve justice, the officers often uncover disturbing realities, from drug investigations to murders, each of which has a profound impact on the audience.

The “violent” episode will air on Channel 4 tonight at 9pm, although viewers have been warned in advance, the Mirror reports.
The Channel 4 synopsis, entitled ‘A Moment of Madness’, says: ‘The episode explodes onto screens as a bloodied man emerges from a hotel lift holding a fire extinguisher and screaming that he has killed someone. Will detectives be able to figure out what happened?
The episode is a repeat of the 2017 episode, although Channel 4’s streaming platform appears to have a warning accompanying the program.
It says: “Farse language, images and descriptions of a violent attack which may be upsetting to some viewers. This program is not suitable for young viewers.”
This evening’s episode takes viewers inside the distressing 999 call made after a man was seen with a fire extinguisher at the hotel, with accounts from the first officers to respond. Police Constable Georgina Kindred admitted: “I knew I wasn’t myself.”

She described how, upon arriving at the hotel, she met a man holding a fire extinguisher and explained: “As soon as he saw me he immediately came up to me and said ‘I killed a man’, he seemed very calm.”
The episode also features disturbing CCTV footage as well as urgent body camera footage of officers piecing together what really happened.
