A quick look at the best Prime Day laptops:
The ongoing global RAM shortage has prompted most PC makers to raise the prices of their laptops this year. This week, even Apple is included in that number: all of its MacBooks are now at least $100 more expensive than they were at launch. (Goodbye $599 MacBook Neo. We barely knew you.)
Luckily, Amazon is offering some sweet RAMageddon relief during its annual Prime Day sale. MacBooks, Windows PCs, and gaming laptops from brands like Acer, Asus, MSI, HP, and Lenovo are currently on sale there for up to $850 off. Act fast, though: Prime Day ends at midnight tonight, June 26, and itโs likely the last time weโll see laptop deals this good before Black Friday season.

As Mashableโs resident expert on all things laptops, I have to tell you that Amazon offers a much smaller selection of Windows laptops, gaming laptops, and Chromebooks than other major retailersโespecially Best Buy, which is holding a competing Tech Fest sale this week. Below, Iโve rounded up Amazonโs best laptop deals and made sure you canโt find them cheaper anywhere else. But donโt feel like you have to be loyal to Amazon just because Prime Day is in the spotlight right now. Appleโs sleek MacBook Air, powered by an M5 processor, is faster than any other Windows laptop in its price range (and even many other Windows laptops). way more expensive). Its overall build quality is also superior to most competitors, with a luxurious haptic touchpad, a crisp Liquid Retina display, and a 12MP webcam. The price for the 15-inch base model just went up to $1,499, but Amazon is selling it right now for $1,149โa 23% savings. If itโs on sale there, you can find the same deal at Costco (and itโs open to non-members).

This is the 14-inch version of the Acer Aspire 16 AI, my favorite cheap Windows laptop and the best MacBook Neo alternative Iโve tried (so far). I havenโt personally tested the Aspire 14 AI, but our friends at CNET say it has amazing battery life, a great mechanical trackpad, and a good mix of ports, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports. (Mashable and CNET are owned by Ziff Davis.) The Prime Day price of $479.99 makes it much cheaper than the base MacBook Neo, which currently costs $699. Appleโs option has better build quality, but has half the RAM and internal memory.

CNET rates this 16-inch budget gaming laptop a solid 7.7 out of 10, writing that it โdelivers enough 3D graphics power for 1080p/1200p gaming.โ It features a four-zone RGB backlit keyboard and a large, bright 180Hz display. Additionally, it comes with plenty of RAM and storage, the latter of which is easily upgradeable. It usually retails for $1,399.99, but this Prime Day itโs on sale for just $1,099.99. This is an all-time low price that was last seen on Black Friday 2025.
