The finals will take place in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday. As millions of fans around the world turn their attention to the New York-New Jersey Stadium, the weather forecast looks favorable for the match between two football titans: Argentina and Spain.

Located about 12 miles from New York City, the 80,000-seat outdoor venue is completely exposed to the elements, but it won’t have a major impact on Sunday’s game.

The weather is expected to be favorable for Sunday’s World Cup final between Lionel Messi’s Argentina and Spain’s Lamine Yamal, according to the FOX Forecast Center.

While it is inevitable that Messi will suffer during the World Cup final, the weather is not expected. The forecast calls for low-impact conditions, allowing sports’ most anticipated match to take center stage.

From kickoff at 3 p.m. until the final whistle, clear skies and temperatures in the mid-80s are expected. After two halves, drink breaks, a star-studded half-time show and perhaps a little added-time drama, the 2026 World Cup champion is set to be crowned under sunny skies.

The biggest weather factor could be winds, with winds around 10 mph and occasional gusts of up to 15 mph. Although players may have noticed this on long passes and set pieces, the wind is not expected to have a major impact on the match.
