IMD Rain Alert: People who have been suffering from cold and heat for the last few days will now get relief. According to the Meteorological department, a rain warning has been issued in most states of the country including Delhi and NCR tomorrow i.e. July 17th.
Return of Monsoon to Delhi-NCR
Parts of Delhi, Chandigarh and Haryana will remain cloudy tomorrow with thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. The maximum temperature here can range from 38°C to 40°C. However, there will be a major weather change on July 18 and 19, with heavy rain and storms expected on both days.
Status of UP, Bihar and eastern states
The meteorological department has forecast heavy rainfall with gusty winds and thunderstorms over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, while scattered rain may occur over western parts of Uttar Pradesh. Rain will continue till July 18 in western UP and July 22 in eastern UP. Apart from this, a heavy rain warning has also been issued for Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim and Odisha till July 22.
Red alert for heavy rains in Bengal
Due to the low pressure generated in the Bay of Bengal, the surrounding areas including Kolkata may experience heavy rainfall. This system is likely to intensify leading to heavy rainfall in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurdwar and Coochbehar in sub-Himalayan West Bengal during July 19 and 20.

Heavy rain: Some places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive heavy rainfall.
Heavy rain: Uttarakhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Odisha, Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
Heavy rain: Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.
Light or scattered rain: Western Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Eastern and Western Rajasthan, Western Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha, Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and interior Karnataka. The weather in Rajasthan will remain mostly dry for the next 5-6 days with light rainfall only in Jaipur, Bharatpur and Bikaner areas.
