To the left and right there are only trees, bushes, and endless wilderness. After a few minutes they are lost. This is the last known image of a German woman taken by a wildlife camera in Finnish Lapland. There has been no sign of the 50-year-old man for more than two weeks.

The last path leads to the river
So far, only her car, flooded by the river, has been found. When emergency services took the car away, it was empty. In early July, police confirmed to BILD that the car had German license plates. It is not yet known whether the woman traveled to Finland as a tourist or lived there. According to investigators, the now published surveillance camera image was taken near the Tennijoki River on the day of her disappearance around 2 p.m. A woman can be seen running through a lonely forested landscape.
Saia is located in one of the most secluded regions of Finland. The missing German’s car was found in the river here.
This image has special meaning for investigators. According to inspector Mikko Pesola of public broadcaster Yle, there are now serious suspicions that the German woman did not survive after water entered her car.
However, a new search operation has not yet begun. Reason: The wilderness around Salla is vast. Dense forests, swamps and countless ponds stretch for many kilometers. Without specific information, a targeted search is unlikely to be possible.
