King Charles has gone to great lengths to keep his reunion with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie and Lilibet secret, only telling Queen Camilla that the meeting would take place so she could be by his side.
According to sources, even the Prince and Princess of Wales were not notified of the upcoming meeting.
King Charles, who swore his youngest son and daughter-in-law to secrecy while insisting nothing about last Friday’s reunion had been leaked, allowed his aides to confirm the reunion only happened after Harry left Highgrove House undetected.
Friday’s hour-long meeting was “completely secretive, organized by the king,” a source close to the monarch said.
“The King wanted to see Harry and the children. A time had been agreed upon for the Sussexes to arrive at Highgrove on Friday afternoon, which was unusually last minute for the King. Everyone was sworn to secrecy so the meeting could remain confidential,” the source said. Vanity Fair.
Queen Camilla, who was nearby at her estate Rae Mill House, traveled to Highgrove for the meeting “in great haste”.
“Charles wanted Camilla to be there for moral support and because she had been his rock through all the drama with Harry, and she dropped everything. She didn’t tell anyone, not even her family. She just got in the car and headed out. They were all on a mission to make the meeting as airtight as possible,” the source says.
