Both "Palworld" and "Palworld 1.0" made the list of the best players in Steam history

hell yeah

Palworld It was one of the wildest gaming stories I’ve ever remembered when, shortly after launch, it reached 2.1 million concurrent players on Steam alone, remaining today the third highest in the platform’s history. Virality was something we hadn’t seen since another, related type of game, Pokemon GO, which eventually turned into a real battle over intellectual property.

Now, Palworld does something incredible. After 2.5 years in early access, Palworld has now released its version 1.0, the “real” version of the game, which has collected a number of updates over the past few years and added the biggest launch patch in history. While the game obviously isn’t going to hit the 2.1 million mark again, there are 725,000 concurrent players on Steam this weekend, with those numbers rising in Asian markets this morning in the US.

This figure of 725,000 means that second launch Palworld is now one of Steam’s top 15 concurrent launches of all time. To date, there has never been a similar situation where a “relaunch” has hit such a figure, although some additions may be considered timeless hits such as PUBG. CSGO also, as it were, simply turned into its continuation, CS2. Here is a list of the top 15, with Palmir 1.0, this means that the game is enabled there twice:

  1. PUBG – 3.2 million
  2. Black Myth: Wukong – 2.4 million
  3. Palworld – 2.1 million
  4. Counter-Strike 2 – 1.8 million
  5. Monster Hunter: Wild Lands – 1.38 million
  6. Lost Ark – 1.32 million
  7. Dota 2 – 1.29 million
  8. Cyberpunk 2077 – 1.05 million
  9. Elden Ring – 953,000
  10. Banana – 917,000
  11. New World: Eternal – 913,000
  12. Hogwarts Legacy – 879,000
  13. Baldur’s Gate 3 – 875,000
  14. Battlefield 6 – 745,000
  15. Palworld 1.0 – 725,000

Pocketpair has repeatedly stated Palworld This is not a live service game. It’s true in the sense that it doesn’t have seasons or, god forbid, battle passes, but it’s a frequently updated game and has maintained a solid player base since its initial popularity. Pocketpair, however, reports that these numbers far exceed expectations, and the game had 35,000 players playing overnight before launch before jumping to 700,000. Wild. One caveat, however, is that these aren’t all new sales, as many are keeping their original copies of the game, and Pocketpair kindly didn’t increase the price for version 1.0. However, it’s clearly doing great and we rarely, if ever, see anything like this on the market, let alone outside of consoles.
