Notice after a two-week break
In fact, the Wages Commission published a notice on its official website last Thursday. In this notification, the Commission said that it will organize the next round of talks in New Delhi in August, which will provide another opportunity for staff organizations and other stakeholders to put forward their demands and proposals. We would like to inform you that after the completion of its meetings in Calcutta on July 9 and 10, the Commission took a break for approximately two weeks. During this time, several organizations of central government employees and pensioners have expressed concern over the pace of the commission’s work and the possibility of delays.
When is the meeting in Delhi?
The Wage Commission meeting is scheduled to be held in Delhi on August 7 and 10, 2026. During this period, discussions will be held with central employee organizations and stakeholders. We would like to inform you that during these meetings, the Wages Commission receives suggestions from employees’ and pensioners’ organizations and other stakeholders on wages, pension, matching rate, promotions, working conditions and many other issues relating to employees.
The Pay Commission said in a new notification that interested parties who have already submitted their memorandum but have not yet interacted with the Commission in Delhi or any State/Union Territory can apply for appointment. Such organizations will be required to submit a request with their unique Memo ID by July 31, 2026, and provide separate information regarding the location and time of the meeting.

The Eighth Wage Commission also made it clear that this is not the last round of negotiations. The commission plans to hold more meetings in the coming months in Delhi and various states and union territories. Organizations located outside the Delhi NCR region will be able to make appointments for negotiations in their State/Union Territory or in any nearby State/Union Territory.
The commission said that the future schedule will be published on its official website. Please note that the Payments Commission does not accept data in printed form or by email. The Eighth Pay Commission has again said that only data submitted through its portal will be accepted. The Commission asked interested parties not to provide data in hard copy or by email.
