Next weekend, Saturday 18th July and Sunday 19th July, the atmosphere will be calm. A few residual thunderstorms develop near the eastern borders on Saturday, but sunshine returns to much of the country on Sunday, with moderate heat in the north and high heat in the south.
There will be a stagnation (or drop in altitude) over France on Saturday, leading to temporarily unstable weather across the country. But on Sunday the weather should become calmer across the country.

Hot and locally stormy Saturday ahead
The weather looks unsettled with thunderstorms possible in the east. However, calm weather is quickly returning to the west of the country.
This morning is expected to range from 15°C in Brittany to 25°C in the south-east. Heat remains moderate in the north (25–30°C), but intense heat persists in the southeast (35–36°C along the Mediterranean).
Calm and sunny weather returns on Sunday
Storms are moving towards Central Europe, and the weather across the country is becoming calmer and sunny. Temperatures remain slightly above seasonal norms.
In the morning, temperatures are expected to range from 14 to 19°C in the northern 2/3 of the country, and in the southeast it is already 25°C. During the day in the north it is expected to be from 24 to 28°C, in the south from 31 to 33°C.
