Saif Ali Khan explains why he sees Bollywood 'before and after Dhurandhar'

Ranveer Singh Dhurandhar continues to provoke discussions not only among viewers, but also in the film industry. Actor Saif Ali Khan has now opened up about how Aditya Dhar’s directorial work has influenced his view of cinema, even saying that he looks at filmmaking from a ‘before’ and ‘after’ perspective. Dhurandhar.

While talking with Hollywood Reporter India, Saif was asked if he is now giving priority to more diverse scripts. Answering the question, the actor said: “No, I don’t know. I think I have a certain luxury now, a freedom, and I feel like I can immerse myself in it completely. I also noticed that the writing was clearly on the wall. People are more excited or interested when they see something made with passion and something different.”

He went on to explain why Dhurandhar stood out to him and how it changed the way he looked at filmmaking.

“I see time before Dhurandhar and time later. So it depends on us whether we catch up or wake up or not. It seems like the obvious idea is to create amazing music rather than making a new album for every movie, and to use a variety of things from around the world without being too afraid of the English language,” he added.

Saif also particularly praised the film’s music and the way its songs were presented. Sharing what impressed him the most, he said, “I’m just talking about music. She was fantastic, some of the remixes. Instead of hiring a beautiful female lead to do the ‘item’ for you, if you just treat it like a song and have these two girls perform like they’re at a wedding, it doesn’t stick out at all.”

On the work front, Saif Ali Khan will next be seen in Haivandirected by Priyadarshan. The film also stars Akshay Kumar in a pivotal role and is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film. Oppam. The release is scheduled for September 11, 2026.

Except HaivanSaif has it too Hum Hindustani in development and set to premiere on Netflix.
