Is this a fish? No. This is a cylinder. Wait! There are thousands of them.
A shocking video surfaced in Maharashtra’s Raigad during heavy rainfall. Around 3,000 gas cylinders were swept away by the heavy flow of water from the HPCL LPG bottling plant at Patalganga and were seen floating in the Patalganga river.
Officials said heavy rain caused the plant’s containment wall to collapse, causing flood water to flow directly into the premises. The cylinders were then washed into the Patalganga river and the Kharpada stream.
Amazed citizens were seen recording images of the floating cylinders from the bridge.

The administration said some of the cylinders that leaked into the river may be filled with gas.
Raigad Collector Kishan Jawle has appealed to citizens who find these floating gas cylinders in the Patalganga river or nearby areas to immediately hand over them to the concerned authorities or company.
He added that citizens can return cylinders in the following places:
Directly from HPCL
At any nearest HPCL dealer.
Tehsildar Office, Khalapur
Tehsildar Office,
Divisional Officer’s Office (SDO).For safety reasons, the administration has asked people not to keep these cylinders in their homes and to assist in handing them over to the administration or company as soon as possible.
“There is no guarantee whether the cylinders thrown into the river contain gas or are in a safe condition. Picking them up, opening them or bringing them home out of curiosity or for use can be extremely dangerous,” the collector said.
Over the past week, incessant rain has caused destruction in several districts of Maharashtra. Raigad is one of the worst affected districts with floods and river overflows in several areas.
