A third heatwave in the UK is set to intensify again this week after temperatures fell slightly on Monday.
Elsewhere in England and Wales temperatures could top 30C, with some forecasts suggesting temperatures in the mid-30s could be possible in some places.
Heat wave thresholds may also be briefly reached in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland as humidity levels rise across the country.
Amber and Yellow Heat Alertsexternal issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) until 21:00 BST 15 July.
They warn that high temperatures are likely to have a significant impact on health and social care services, including an increase in deaths, especially among people with underlying health conditions or aged 65 and over.
Meanwhile, firefighters are battling wildfires in England and Wales.
In Conwy, north Wales, a bushfire that broke out on Sunday forced rural residents to flee their homes. It has been declared a major incident and firefighters are warning the fire is expected to spread as temperatures rise again on Monday.
One family evacuated from their home reported that the fire had reached their driveway and was within 200 meters of their home.
“The sound was the worst. It was so loud, crackling. You could hear him coming down the mountain,” said resident Ben Campbell.
