During the UFC Oklahoma City main card this Saturday, July 18, American Chase Hooper made his ambitions come true with a first-round submission win over his countryman Mitch Ramirez.
UFC Fight Night 281
Chase Hooper announced his intention to return to the basics of his wrestling and jiu-jitsu based style and delivered his speech brilliantly. To decide the fight, it only took a simple straight left for the Pacific Northwest fighter to destroy Mitch Ramirez’s support. Instantly taking advantage of this, he orchestrated an effective level change to knock his opponent to the ground.
Once the fight began on the mat, the ground specialist quickly maneuvered to grab his opponent’s back. After securing a body triangle to cripple Ramirez’s hips, Chase Hooper methodically worked to set up for the finish. He ended up putting his hand under his opponent’s chin to secure an unstoppable rear choke.
Mitch Ramirez was forced to retire at 2:15 of the first round. With such a smooth performance, the man nicknamed “The Dream” ended his two-game losing streak. The young veteran of the lightweight category thus won his ninth victory within the organization, while signing his seventh success up to the limit in the Octagon.
