The ten projects supported under the Growing with Tourism program include initiatives to reskill tourism businesses, focus on digital transformation, develop new experiences or enhance heritage.
ABOUT Turismo de Portugal agreement signed this week in Coimbra (at an event chaired by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services Pedro Machado), contracts to finance another 10 tourism projects located in territories within the country. Initiatives that resulted in “Growing with Tourism” programrepresent global investment of 3.3 million euros and receive support of €2.3 million provided as a non-repayable incentive.
OS projects supported, distributed across Regions North, Center, Ribatejo and Alentejo.and andinvolve public, private and association organizations. Include initiatives for retraining of tourism enterprises, bet on digital transformation, developing new experiences or appreciating heritage. In addition, they cover segments such as nature tourism, regenerative tourism, sports and cultural tourism, creative tourism and accessible and inclusive tourism.
Thanks to this new support Turismo de Portugal reaffirms its commitment to a more balanced, sustainable and inclusive model of tourism developmentcapable of creating economic, social and environmental value in the territories.
At the time of signing the above contracts, Carlos Abade, President of Turismo de Portugall, emphasized that “the continuity of the Crescer com o Turismo program underlines its the importance of implementing projects that value the territories, improve the quality of the tourism offer and expand the variety of experiences available in Portugal.He added that “the ten projects currently supported contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of destinations, stimulating local economies and promoting more balanced, sustainable and value-creating tourism development on the national territory.”
Remember that Tourism support program “Grow with Tourism” was launched in February 2025, allocated R$ 30 million and valid until December 31, 2026 or until available funds are exhausted. TO Applications can be found on the Turismo de Portugal portal.
The main goal of the program is to promote sustainable development of territories with a special emphasis on social and environmental responsibility, quality of offer and increasing the value of tourism resources. As part of the same program, Turismo de Portugal supported 32 more projects this year.
