Palma de Mallorca – A billion dollar mess for DSDS winner Pietro Lombardi (34)! For the singer, the trip to Mallorca was a real test of nerves, because something happened to him that many vacationers panic about: he forgot his bag on the plane. Except that Pietro had some more “change”: 3,000 euros in cash. Oh God!

On the Patchwork Boys podcast, Lombardi talks co-host Oliver Pocher, 48, through the drama. He left a small fanny pack on the Eurowings plane after it landed in Mallorca. Identity cards, bank cards and all important documents were also there – and temporarily disappeared.

Pietro Lombardi also left his fanny pack in the car of his friend Oliver Pocher (48). Contents at that time: Also a large bundle of banknotes.

Forgot my bag on the plane

Posher has a hard time believing this and immediately teases: “Not the first time. My little friend. How many were there this time? Pietro’s answer: “3000 euros.” For Ollie it is clear: “You have more money than any ATM.” How could this even happen? Pietro explains everything like this: “I had a fanny pack here, on my chest. Then you sit, and then it starts to irritate. Then I took it off and put it next to my feet.” It’s just stupid that they weren’t already at eye level. Getting out of the car, Pietro thought about everything except his bag.

Poaching I can’t believe it: “You didn’t notice that you just left a fanny pack with 3,000 euros on the plane. You didn’t notice it for an hour.” Pietro admits: “No, not at all. I have no idea.” He calmly got out and went to the Megapark party temple, where he regularly performs. Only then did he realize what was missing.

Pietro was lucky

Blessing in Disguise: Then came the saving call from Rocky Management: Eurowings staff discovered the bag and responded immediately. Thanks to the papers, they knew who owned everything. For this Pietro is grateful to this day: “They took them straight to the lost and found office in Mallorca. Lucky.”

But it wasn’t the cash that bothered him the most: “If I had to choose between giving away €3,000 or getting ID and insurance cards and everything new – then I would say, okay, it hurts, but I’d rather get rid of the money.”

Shocking call for Pietro from the hospital

But Pietro’s streak of bad luck isn’t over yet. On the way back, his cell phone rang: “Then I got a FaceTime call on the plane. From Alessio at the hospital.” His eleven-year-old son was injured while playing football and felt severe pain in his arm. Pietro immediately thought about the upcoming family vacation. And he expresses his feelings like this: “Hey, how can this be? We’re going to go on summer vacation with casts and everything. Catastrophe. Shit. Horror”.

Pietro is the father of three sons: Alessio (11 years old, left), Amelio (1 year old) and Leano (3 years old, right).

Fortunately, there was a recovery in the end: instead of a complex fracture, doctors diagnosed only a microcrack. Now Pietro hopes: “Maybe I’ll be lucky, because he can be cured in three weeks, and then he can at least go into the water.” His son doesn’t have a real cast either, “just a splint.”
