SECOND, California (KBC) – Bay Club Daycare in El Segundo is being sued after the parents of a 23-month-old child say their son was seriously injured by an employee.

Warning. The video in the media player above is graphic and may be difficult to watch.

The lawsuit is based on surveillance video taken in March 2025 at a day care center for members of the upscale Bay Club and Manhattan Country Club.

The footage showed the worker grabbing the toddler, identified in court documents as CK, by the arms and stabbing him multiple times. On the third swing, the worker appears to throw the child into the air and fails to catch him as he falls. The worker then appears to fall on top of the baby.

The parents say the incident left C.K. with a traumatic brain injury and hearing loss.

The lawsuit alleges negligence and fraud on the part of the Bay Club. The child’s parents claim that the club misrepresented the circumstances of the incident, notifying them that they needed to pick up their son after his fall.

According to the lawsuit, “The Bay Club falsely claimed that the employee fell while she was squatting and holding CK, and that CK was only about 1.5 feet above the ground when the fall occurred. It was a complete lie.”

The lawsuit also claims the video demonstrates the severity of the negligence and the long-term effects on the child.

Bay Club says it cannot comment on ongoing litigation and says safety is its top priority.
