The car was found empty, and the electronic bracelet is not geolocated: a child and his father went missing in Belgium

A five-year-old child and his father have been missing in Belgium for almost two weeks, and on Wednesday the justice system announced it was calling for witnesses to collect CCTV images that could lead to their discovery.

Timeo and his father, 29-year-old Brian Brigou, were last seen on June 27 in Aunay, near Dinant (south), and the following day his father’s car was found empty in a car park in the area.

According to the Belgian channel RTL, Brian Brigou was serving a sentence under electronic monitoring at the time of his disappearance.

But “the (electronic) bracelet cannot be geolocated,” Tina, Timeo’s mother, told RTL, emphasizing that Brian had the right to leave his home at certain times.

The appeal filed by the Namur police is aimed in particular at private individuals or traders who may have CCTV systems that may have captured images of the two missing people or the vehicle.

This is a dark-colored VW Golf 6 with tinted rear windows that was seen during the weekend of June 27th and 28th in the Dinan region.

In particular, the municipalities of Aunay and Hastiers, located on the banks of the Meuse, in the north of the French department of the Ardennes, are mentioned.

The witness call is accompanied by a physical description of Brian Brigou (dark hair and beard) and Timeo (blue eyes, blond hair) and the clothing they were wearing on June 27: each wearing a T-shirt and cap on a hot day.

“At this stage of the investigation, no option has been ruled out,” the police emphasize, without disclosing details.

Asked by AFP, federal police, who announced the first manhunt on June 29, declined to say whether the child abduction route was the preferred route.

Brian’s mother, Marianne Brigou, told RTL on Wednesday that she was “devastated” by the double disappearance, adding of her son: “He’s a great father who loves his little boy and he would never hit his child, that’s nonsense!” »
