Shimla: The Education Minister congratulated 125 athletes who won medals in national and international competitions.

Education Minister Rohit Thakur on Saturday honored 125 players who won medals in the 69th School National Games and International competitions at a felicitation ceremony held at Portmore School in Shimla. At the ceremony, awards and honors were presented to 111 players who won medals at the national level and 14 players who won medals at the international level. The event was presided over by Ashish Kohli, Director of School Education and President of Himachal School Sports Association. The program was attended by medalists of various sports, their coaches, parents and employees of the education department.

The honored players included medalists in many individual and team competitions, including kabaddi, handball, wrestling, and kurash. Congratulating the players, Education Minister Rohit Thakur said their achievements are a matter of pride for the state. He urged the players to maintain sportsmanship and perform well in future national and international competitions. He said the state government was constantly working to develop the sport by providing better training and facilities to the players. Such felicitation ceremonies not only boost the morale of young players, but also inspire other students to take up the sport.
